Vision Components introduces 5-Mpixel camera

-- Test & Measurement World, 6/24/2008 9:44:00 AM

Vision Components has added the 5-Mpixel VCSBC4012 to its VC BoardCam line of industrial cameras. All components of the new camera, which is designed without a housing, are installed on a board measuring 4x120 mm, making it possible for engineers to integrate the camera into a wide range of applications.

The VCSBC4012 features a CMOS sensor (with a programmable resolution up to 2592x1944 pixels) and a 400-MHz processor from Texas Instruments with 3200-MIPS computing power. At full resolution, the frame rate is 11.6 fps. VGA skipping allows for a maximum frame rate of 102 fps.

The camera comes with 64 Mbytes of DRAM and an Ethernet interface. Additionally, two digital inputs and four outputs (open collector) are available onboard. Both color and blac-and-white models are available.
