Modelithics offers free sample model library for RF design

Modelithics has released a free sample model library for surface-mount capacitor, inductor, and resistor component representation using the Virtuoso Spectre Circuit Simulator from Cadence. The Modelithics Select sample library comprises a collection of models from the company’s CLR passive components library representing five different popular surface-mount RLC component families.

Each equivalent-circuit model has been extracted from precision impedance and S-parameter measurements. Models offer advanced features, such as part-value scaling, substrate scaling, pad scaling, representation of high-order resonant effects, and accurate effective series resistance, and are valid through 10 GHz and higher.

Modelithics Select models are intended for use with microstrip interconnects. Custom models are available through the Models-On-Demand service. The Select Library for Cadence will be posted for individual download at www.modelithics.com/free-models.asp. Modelithics plans to release its full CLR Library for Cadence in the third quarter of 2008.
