FuturePlus DDR3 interposer works with Tektronix analyzers

FuturePlus Systems claims its FS2355 interposer preprocessor for next-generation double-data-rate (DDR) SDRAM buses is one of the world’s fastest interposers. It is intended for use with Tektronix TLA7000 series logic analyzers to aid the debugging of 1333 DIMM cards. You can use the FS2355 interposer for DIMM validation, failure analysis, and bus functional-parametric validation in PC servers, super computing, and high-definition TV.

The preprocessor provides state analysis and protocol decode at up to 1333 megatransfers/s (MT/s), as well as timing analysis at up to 50 GHz in DDR3 systems. According to FuturePlus, the FS2355 is the only DDR3 interposer tool proven to provide reliable 1333-MT/s capture using the new TLA7BBx Tektronix logic analyzer modules. Its low-profile design minimizes probe-induced effects on the DDR3 bus. An interposer probe is inserted into the target memory socket, while also accepting a memory module in the probe’s extender DIMM slot. This capability is essential when the target system has only one memory slot or when probing a fully populated memory bus.

The unit includes software that helps you comprehend acquired data and enhances usability. Protocol decode software interprets bus data and displays it in protocol, hexadecimal, or binary format. Autoconfiguration files facilitate logic analyzer setup.

The FS2355 costs $48,250, including probe cables.
