Tektronix protocol analyzer targets femtocell networks
-- Test & Measurement World, 7/14/2008 9:05:00 AM
Customers seeking to develop femtocell technologies can use the G35 protocol analyzer from Tektronix to provide simulation and emulation of key elements of their femtocell designs, including UMTS core network interfaces over IP such as Iu-CS and lu-PS. Tektronix claims that the G35 allows a significant reduction of both cost and footprint in the lab infrastructure as network elements can be effectively replaced by the test unit.
Femtocells, also known as personal base stations, have the potential to transform communications by making mobile devices the tools of choice, even in home settings. The G35 protocol analyzer provides a platform for functional testing of a wide range of interfaces for femtocell and all the latest mobile technologies.
The G35 gives network mobile equipment manufacturers and service providers protocol simulation, load generation, and monitoring capabilities in a single integrated system. Its modular hardware and software allow for functional and load testing of all technologies in mobile communications, including GSM, GPRS, EDGE, CDMA, CDMA2000, UMTS, TD-SCDMA, WiMAX, and LTE.
