Starrett's vision system provides large z-axis clearance
-- Test & Measurement World, 7/14/2008 9:25:00 AM
Part of the Galileo family of video measurement systems, the AV350 from Starrett is an intermediate-travel multisensor metrology instrument offering a large, square 14x14-in. (350x350-mm) x/y work area and extra z clearance at 8 in. (200 mm). The additional z clearance, combined with extra rigidity, provides the necessary space for multisensor attachments, including vision, contact probe, and laser scanning.
You can use the AV350 in quality control labs, research, engineering, and manufacturing environments. Its color optical system provides a zoom magnification ratio of 12:1 with a programmable magnification range from 15X to 550X (on screen) with auxiliary lenses. Lighting options include an LED illuminator or triple-output fiber-optic ring light and coaxial illumination, as well as a dark-field simulated LED ring light that is quadrant-controllable. Other options include a Renishaw PH6 contact probe with TP20 module and an Optimet Mark III laser probe.
The AV350 includes a 24-in. widescreen flat-panel LCD and Metronics Quadra-Chek QC-5000 3-D metrology software. Its work envelope offers a motion volume of 14.1x14.1x8.1 in. (355x355x205 mm). Maximum workload, evenly distributed, is 25 lbs (11 kg). Overall size of the Galileo AV350, including the supplied pedestal, is 40x50x76 in. (1010x1270x1930 mm), and the system weighs approximately 500 lbs.
