GL improves voice quality test platform

GL Communications' VQuad with Voice Quality Testing (VQT) software provides a single-box solution for automatically sending and recording voice over a variety of network interfaces, including PSTN, VoIP, wireless, and T1/E1. You can execute up to eight fully independent tests using different interfaces simultaneously and perform voice quality analysis on the recorded voice files. VQuad also supports automated call control for establishing calls and verifying the call is up prior to sending and recording voice.
The GL VQT software provides voice quality measurement and analysis tools for all types of networks carrying voice traffic. It analyzes the recorded voice files using ITU specifications P.862.1 (PESQ), P.862.2 (PESQ WB), P.861 (PSQM), and P.800 (PAMS). VQT is an intrusive quality of service algorithm that can be executed in an automated fashion along with the VQuad. For higher call density, the software can be used with GL's DCOSS, APS, PacketGen, or T1/E1 analysis products. Results are saved to a database that can be queried using the remote NetViewer application.
A GPS option for VQuad permits drive testing with VQT MOS scores plotted to local street maps, while an indoor tracking system (ITS) provides the means to add location information to VQuad results when GPS is not available. The ITS works with both the VQuad for adding the location references to the user-specified geographical map and NetViewer for viewing the VQT/VQuad results overlaid on the ITS geographical map.
