Do you make enough money?
-- Test & Measurement World, 8/1/2008
Read the results of T&MW's 2008 Salary Survey to learn whether your salary and benefits are competitive with your peers in the test-engineering industry. In June of this year, we asked subscribers to the print edition of Test & Measurement World to report on their compensation, experience, education, job satisfaction, and workload.
Contributing editor Lawrence D. Maloney analyzed the responses and interviewed several test engineers to learn their opinions about the state of the test-engineering profession. His main conclusion? Despite the current economic climate, test engineers are enjoying rising salaries and strong demands for their services. Read his complete report in Steady as she goes.
Maloney also interviewed Laura Sherbin, the co-author of a new study on women in technical careers. Sherbin, who is the research director of the Center for Work-Life Policy, explained that women often leave the tech field before age 40, but that some major firms are now introducing special programs to lure them back.
