Teseq emission test system meets ISO 7637-2 standard

-- Test & Measurement World, 8/26/2008 8:13:00 AM

The AES 5500 automotive transient emissions system from Teseq is designed for emission testing to the ISO 7637-2 standard. Compliance with the automotive industry standard enables the system to be used to test the compatibility of conducted electrical transients of equipment installed in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles fitted with a 12-V electrical system or commercial vehicles fitted with a 24-V electrical system.

The AES 5500's 100-A MC-type connectors are strategically placed and countersunk 50-mm above the ground plane to allow for precise cabling between the system’s switches, artificial network, and test bench. It has a separate control station for automatic, manual, or external triggering of switches and also gives you complete control over where, when, and how the switches can be placed and controlled, including drive voltages for the relays. The switch placement, cable length, and industry-standard relay footprint of the AES 5500 meet numerous manufacturers’ standards.

In addition to 100-A operation with low voltage drop, the AES 5500 provides a transient voltage of 440 V to protect against long-term deterioration by eliminating high-voltage transients, spikes, and surges. It also furnishes relay voltages of 12 V, 24 V, and 42 V. The system’s nonrepetitive electronic switch features an inrush current of up to 1000 A for 10 ms or 300 A for 1 s.

Base price: $12,900. Teseq, www.teseq.com.
