Agilent extends network analyzer capability to 20-GHz

A new option from Agilent Technologies extends the 8.5-GHz frequency range of the E5071C ENA Series network analyzer up to 20 GHz. It supports both two-port and four-port configurations and can be used to evaluate a wide range of components, such as the third harmonics of passive components in WLAN, WiMAX, UWB, or any 4G technology that uses carrier frequency up to 6 GHz.
Agilent also announced the E5092A configurable multiport test set, which is used to evaluate multiport devices for front-end modules in cellular handsets or WLAN devices, as well as other multiport devices, such as SPnT switches, cables/connectors, and phased array antennas. The E5092A test set replaces the existing E5091A test set and works with the ENA network analyzers to provide frequency coverage up to 20 GHz. The E5092A provides 10-port full crossbar measurements, or up to 22-port measurements, and can be used with the Measurement Wizard Assistant software to simplify complex system setups.
ENA network analyzers range from low-cost models for performing basic S-parameter measurements, like the E5061A and E5062A, to instruments for advanced multiport and balanced measurements, such as the E5071C. The E5071C-2K5 two-port, 300-kHz to 20-GHz option costs $56,485; the E5071C-4K5 four-port, 300-kHz to 20-GHz option costs $66,755. The E5092A configurable multiport test set sells for $33,583.
