Lambda PCB supplies meet Class B EMC requirements

-- Test & Measurement World, 9/30/2008 12:00:00 PM

Additions to the ZPSA series of PCB-mount AC/DC power supplies from Lambda include the ZPSA40 and ZPSA60 series of single-output supplies. The devices meet the conducted and radiated EMC requirements of EN55022-B and FCC Class B without additional filtering or components, and the EN61000-4 immunity specifications for greater reliability.

The 40-W and 60-W power supplies are available with output voltages ranging from 3.3 VDC to 48 VDC. Outputs are floating, so they can be either a positive or negative polarity. Typical efficiencies are up to 88%. Models are rated for operation in a convection-cooled environment with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 70°C without derating. Standard features include both overvoltage and short-circuit protection.

Occupying an industry-standard 2x4x1.07-in. footprint, these compact supplies accommodate an input voltage range of 90 VAC to 264 VAC (47 Hz to 440 Hz) or 120 VDC to 370 VDC. They can be used as drop-in replacements for existing supplies, and their low profile allows them to be installed in the most compact of applications. Both the ZPSA40 and ZPSA60 series have global safety agency approvals per UL/CSA/EN60950-1 standards. All supplies carry the CE Mark and are RoHS-compliant.

Prices for the 40-W ZPSA40 series and the 60-W ZPSA60 series start at $15.75 (1000 units).
