FieldFox from Agilent Technologies is a highly integrated handheld RF analyzer for wireless network installation and maintenance. According to the manufacturer, FieldFox is the only handheld analyzer that can make return-loss and distance-to-fault measurements at the same time, allowing you to quickly check system performance and identify potentially degraded system components simultaneously. The company also claims that Fieldfox is the only RF tool for base station installation and maintenance that is calibration-ready at the test port.
FieldFox combines multiple RF measurement capabilities in one rugged, compact, and lightweight package and can tackle complex wireless networks with test times that are more than 50 percent faster than conventional testers. Key measurements include cable and antenna test from 2 MHz to 4 GHz (optionally 6 GHz), spectrum analysis from 100 kHz to 4 GHz (optionally 6 GHz), vector network analysis, and trace average power measurements. In spectrum analysis mode, it provides fast fault location with 1001-point resolution and a 96-dB dynamic range.
The integrated QuickCal option eliminates the need to carry a calibration kit into the field, simplifying cable and antenna testing and providing worry-free accuracy and repeatability with every measurement. QuickCal corrects for phase shift, time delay, and loss of adapters or jumper cables. Immediate calibration with FieldFox’s CalReady makes the instrument calibration-ready at the cable and antenna test port immediately following power-up.
Prices for the FieldFox handheld RF analyzer start at $7600.
