TDK-Lambda 40-W DC/DC converters have 4:1 input range

-- Test & Measurement World, 12/30/2008 7:00:00 AM

Useful for applications where input voltage varies widely, the PXF40-W series of DC/DC converters from TDK-Lambda accommodates a 4:1 input range of either 9 V to 36 V or 18 V to 75 V. The fully isolated converters come in six-sided shielded metal cases, which reduce radiated noise to meet EN55022 Level A specifications.

Each converter occupies an industry-standard footprint of 2x2x0.4 in. and provides total output power of up to 40 W. Single-output versions provide 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, or 15 V; dual-output models provide ±12 V or ±15 V. The converters also deliver efficiencies of up to 88% and MTFB in excess of 1.3 million hours.

You can use the PXF40-W series of converters for data communications, telecommunications, distributed power applications, and POL architectures. Units are safety approved to UL60950 and EN60950 specifications and are RoHS-compliant. Other features include remote on/off, output trim, and both over-current and over-voltage protection.

Prices for the PXF40-W family of DC/DC converters start at $53 in OEM quantities.
