Updated LXI spec ready for release
September 12, 2006
The LXI Board passed the updated LXI Specification Release 1.1 on August 25 and expects to release it early in September. The update clarifies issues raised in interpreting the meaning of various sections of Release 1.0 and adds new sections to address advancements in technology.
A major change is removal of material on the hardware trigger bus cable, connector and terminator from the main specification and an appendix. This material will be released as a separate document called the Cable and Terminal Specification. Version 1.1 of this Specification will be released at the same time as Version 1.1 of the main Specification.
Release 1.1 also adds a section on hybrid systems, which addresses issues involved in combining LXI and non-LXI equipment in one system. It also includes a more detailed description of the conformance process.--
