IEEE approves designation for 100Gb Ethernet

I just received word that IEEE has designated P802.3ba as the standard for 100 Gb Ethernet. Work on the technical specifications will now commence, with an expected completion date of 2010.

Look for more on P802.3ba in the December/January print issue of Test & Measurement World and online December 21, 2007.
