Another close encounter with ESD
July 31, 2007
I had another close encounter with large-scale ESD (lightning) over the weekend. While driving near New York's Kennedy Airport, I saw lightning strike nearby. Although this strike wasn't as close as I described in "
When ESD gets too close," it was still closer than I like. This time, the electric field from the lightning caused alarms on two nearby parked cars to sound; a clear case of electromagnetic interference.
