Flying colors
November 14, 2007

Agilent Technologies recently released Vee 8.5 to a flurry of comments on the Vee e-mail list. While Agilent touts several new features, the one that drew the most comments was automatic color coding. Prior Vee versions used blue for all programming icons. Now, icons come up with different colors for different functions. Vee users' comments have range from "disgusting" to "invaluable." Those who like the colors say it makes programs easier to read. Fortunately for the people who don't like the colors, users have already found a way to revert to a single color.

It's amazing how such a relatively simple change to a complex product can produce so many comments.
