Teradyne grabs Nextest

Teradyne has joined Asset InterTech and Verigy on their
holiday shopping spree, having announced that it is buying Nextest Systems. The purchase will enable Teradyne to compete in the flash-memory test market, giving it an immediate 11% share. A statement released by the two companies put the flash-test market at $700 million in 2006 and noted that Nextest’s flash-test sales for that year totaled about $80 million.
