Apple pays Creative
August 24, 2006

I reported earlier this summer on a dispute between Apple Computer and Creative Technology regarding digital-music-player navigation schemes, icons, and file organization.

Now, reports the Wall Street Journal, Apple will pay Creative a $100 million technology-licensing fee to settle the dispute in an effort to avoid prolonged litigation. An analyst quoted in the Journal calls the amount "chump change" for Apple.
