AMOOFDM!!
March 29, 2007
No, it’s not a new expletive that should have been deleted by a family- or business-friendly Web filter. It’s an acronym for “adaptively modulated optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing.” That’s a modulation scheme that Senior Technical Editor Martin Rowe came across at the OFC/NFOEC tradeshow in Anaheim this week.
If you want to know more about AMOOFDM and are a member of the IEEE, you can download a paper on it here. Also, read Martin’s report about new optical test and measurement equipment on display at OFC/NFOEC.
