A new dot-4 product and a clarification
November 11, 2005

In a recent post on JTAG Technologies' support for National Semiconductors' SCANSTA476, I incorrectly implied that the SCANSTA476 is compliant with the IEEE 1149.4 analog boundary-scan standard. The SCANSTA476 is an analog voltage monitor that employs an IEEE 1149.1 interface to select one of eight analog inputs and initiate a measurement.

There is a new 1149.4 product though--Goepel electronic's SFX1149.4, a member of the company's ScanFlex boundary-scan hardware platform introduced at this week's International Test Conference.  The new module  provides resources for the test of analog circuits based the dot-4 standard. Thomas Wenzel, director of the boundary-scan business unit at Goepel, said companies in the automotive and medical industries have shown interest in dot-4 implementations.
