Cadence, PDF Collaborate

Sibling publication Electronic News is reporting that Cadence Design Systems and yield-management software supplier PDF Solutions have announced their intent to collaborate on design-for-manufacturability (DFM) technology and products to improve IC manufacturability, yield and reliability. That news comes on the heels of an announcement of a cooperative effort of Cadence with IBM under which the companies have deployed Cadence's Encounter Test product line to exceed testability and manufacturing-diagnostics goals for the Cell Broadband Engine.
