MSC paper deadline extended
The submission deadline for the 2010 Measurement Science Conference has been extended to September 31. Here are the instructions for submitting a paper.
===========================
MSC is using a web-based system for abstract and paper submittals. Please follow the instruction below.
1. Visit www.edas.info .
If you already have an EDAS user’s account, please log onto EDAS and skip to step 4 below. If you do not already have an account, click the "New User" button.
2. Create a profile. Only the five fields with the red asterisk are required. These fields are first & last name, affiliation (company or organization), country, e-mail address, and status. When the fields are filled in, check the "Privacy Policies" box and click the "Add Person" button. NOTE: if you select USA as the country, you will get a message asking for your state.
3. You will receive an e-mail containing your password. You can then return to the EDAS log-in page (www.edas.info) and change your assigned password to one that is easier to remember. To do this, click on the "My Profile" tab, and then click on "change your password". Be sure to record your user name, password and ID number for later reference.
4. To submit your abstract, click the "Submit Paper" tab. Find MSC 2010 among the list of active conferences and click the button in the right-most column to access the form.
5. On the next screen titled "Register a Paper for MSC 2010", type in the title of the paper in the block, enter a short abstract, and select the topic area(s) that your paper falls under. There is a check box that you acknowledge MSC’s copyright agreement (basically we can include your paper in our proceedings for this year and following years). Click the "Submit" button. The next page you see will have a large green check mark and a statement that "the paper was registered".
You can now log off EDAS. You will receive an email notification that your paper was registered. You will receive another notice when your paper is accepted by MSC. You can go back to EDAS and edit the title, abstract, topics, or add/change authors at any time.
After you have the final draft, please SAVE AS ‘Paper Number – Last Name’. The paper number is the ten digit number assigned by EDAS. Using this file name format is much easier for us. You would be surprised at the number of files we get titled “MSC Paper”.
Please check your file for viruses before sending it to us. From the EDAS homepage, you can upload your paper by clicking on the icon in the line that shows your paper’s listing or via ftp, as per instructions on that page. There is a check box that you acknowledge MSC’s copyright agreement (basically we can include your paper in our proceedings for this year and following years). After you return to your EDAS homepage, you will see your uploaded paper. If you click on the paper number, you will see the paper details.
If you click on the paper under "Manuscript", you will see the PDF version that you uploaded. From your EDAS homepage, you can see the status of your paper. Initially, when you are registered but yet to upload your paper, EDAS will highlight the paper with white color as pending, to show that no version of your paper PDF file has been uploaded yet. After your paper has been uploaded, the color indicating the status will change to yellow, and a confirmation e-mail will be sent to all authors.
