Safety and EMC engineers gather for exhibits
About 120 safety and EMC Engineers from the Boston area gathered for the 15th annual Vendors Night, sponsored by the Northeast Product Safety Society. The event, held at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough, MA, featured 35 exhibits of safety and EMC products and services. Among those exhibiting were members of the 2009 EMC Symposium Band, bassist Brian Mullins and vocalist Louis Feudi.

Mullins, shown in the photo along with Russ Lopez, manned the Panashield booth. Other equipment suppliers included (in photos) Teseq, AR, and Quadtech. Panashield is a manufacturer of EMC chambers. Teseq president Greg Senko demonstrated the company’s benchtop EMC test products. AR exhibited two RF amplifiers used for EMC immunity testing while Quadtech exhibited its line of hipot testers.

Other equipment vendors included Thermo Fisher Scientific (ESD simulators and immunity testers), EM Test (EMC immunity testers), Associated Research (hipot testers), ETS-Lindgren (chambers, absorbers, antennas), HV Technologies (high-voltage testers), and Pilz Automation (automation safety equipment.
Test Labs included Core Compliance, Retlif Testing Labs, TUV Rheinland, Intertek, Compliance Management Group, and FM Approvals. EMC consultants Silent Solutions were also exhibitors.
The Northeast Product Safety Society hosts the annual event as well as monthly meetings that feature technical presentations. The Vendor’s Night includes dinner for all attendees at no charge.
