Here’s another of Bill Carton’s “fix anything” advice.

Don’t make a problem worse by ill-planned experiments.
The Hippocratic Oath applies to system diagnosticians as well as physicians: “Above all, do no harm.”

Take the time to think though your measurements so that the data you obtain is valid and repeatable.
