Mesuro is Tektronix partner on nonlinear time-domain measurements
I reported earlier on Tektronix’s efforts with respect to nonlinear measurements of RF components in the time domain, and I quoted technical marketing manager Darren McCarthy as saying that Tektronix is working with a third party to implement the appropriate algorithms. My experience in interviewing people has trained me that when sources mention unnamed third parties, they are not going to elaborate further. In this case, my experience led me in the wrong direction, and McCarty contacted me to let me know he’s happy to identify the organization is working with: it’s a VC funded group from Cardiff University in Wales called Mesuro Limited.
At the Mesuro Website, you’ll even find a diagram of a test system using a Tektronix arbitrary waveform generator and sampling oscilloscope. Mesuro will be providing the system integration, the signal conditioning, and the waveform engineering software for performing nonlinear calibration, measurements, and analysis. The site says such systems will be shipping this year.
McCarthy adds that NMDG, which I had mentioned as potentially the third party, still falls into the category of frequency-domain analysis, not time domain.
