Si14 offers embedded alternative in US
Offering an alternative source for embedded computers in North America, the Italian firm Si14 has entered the US market. General manager Andrea Tellatin said in an interview last week in San Jose that the company focuses on reducing time-to-market for its customers while being able to deliver custom hardware form factors as well as custom software and I/O configurations.
The company supports platforms including the Intel Atom, Intel EP80579, Freescale iMx25 through iMx51, and Texas Instruments OMAP. Software offered by Si14 includes ThrillMX, an audio/video streaming library primarily targeting Freescale i.MX processors; Cyvet, which supports multimedia distribution; and SAN-Framework, which supports the management and control of domestic or industrial appliances, sensors, and actuators.
Si14 has grown within the M31 private company that incubates high-tech ventures.
