Samsung demonstrates broadcast services over LTE

Samsung Electronics successfully displayed clear reception of LTE broadcast services based on eMBMS (evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) technology using Anritsu’s RTD (Rapid Test Designer) software and MD8430A signaling tester to simulate the LTE network environment. The two companies, both long-time players in new mobile technologies, have collaborated to bring this new technology to market.

eMBMS not only allows the LTE network infrastructure to be used for the delivery of broadcast services, but also enables carriers to adjust coverage and capacity as needed to make efficient use of network resources. Samsung engineers were able to create the eMBMS demonstration using RTD’s graphical script design to drive the execution of the test simulation on the MD8430A LTE signaling tester.
