CMRI partners with Aeroflex for TD-LTE network test

China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI) and Aeroflex have signed a memorandum of understanding for a cooperation covering both LTE (Long Term Evolution) and LTE-A (LTE-Advanced). Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will collaborate on the testing and verification of LTE functionality and performance, as well as key LTE-A technologies, such as carrier aggregation, eICIC (enhanced inter-cell interference coordination), and UL-MIMO (uplink MIMO), using the Aeroflex TM500 Test Mobile and EAST500 capacity test system.

China Mobile is the leading mobile services provider in China. CMRI, the research and development division of China Mobile, has been spearheading research into TD-LTE, which is the time-division-duplexing version of LTE.
