Do you remember your first scope?

- July 12, 2012

The first scope I got to lay my hands on was a top-of-the-line LeCroy Corporation scope some time in the late 1990s. I remember being amazed at its ability to graphically display what was going on with a signal. Back then, the big deals were triggering, graphing, and storage. About ten years ago, I bought my very own scope. It came about because my husband idly mentioned how it would be nice to have a scope in our electronics-laden house in order to diagnose problems on the pinball machines that he fixed as a hobby. In truth, I wanted an excuse to have one and jumped on the chance to buy it.

My first scope.

So, my scope is now somewhat old and certainly very simple when compared to the scopes most of us consider buying (or wishing for) today. But it is still really cool, and it still shows me the magic.
Do you remember your first scope? What was it? Do you still have it?
