Cognex Explorer monitors vision and ID systems

- May 18, 2012

Through a point-and-click interface, the Explorer control center simplifies the deployment, maintenance, and control of Cognex vision systems and ID readers connected to the network. In addition to a graphical view of connected systems, the software utility provides tools for backing up, restoring, and cloning systems, as well as performing firmware upgrades.

The Explorer control center displays the identity, type, and status of all Ethernet-connected In-Sight vision systems, DataMan ID readers, and VisionView display devices. Control, production, and maintenance engineers can view device settings, including IP addresses and firmware/software versions, sort by device name, and group product types. It also allows users to execute firmware updates, backup and restore multiple systems simultaneously, clone systems when expanding the network, and add licenses for VisionView.

To simplify the control of vision systems and ID readers, Explorer lets engineers store, view, and share information on the factory floor or from any remote location where the network can be accessed. Users can sort and analyze data, make adjustments to devices, and respond to changes on the production line as they occur.

The Explorer control center is free for downloading to all Cognex customers.
