ATE system needs no local PC
Martin Rowe- June 20, 2012
Bloomy Controls, Headless ATE System lets you control one or more test instruments over a network, without a local keyboard, monitor, or mouse. The system uses a single-board controller with numerous data ports such as USB, RS-232/485, CAN, and SHDC for communication with test instruments. The controller then connects over a LAN to a PC running Bloomy's Supervisory software. The software collects test data in a database and calculates statistics such as test time, number of tests, passed and failed UUTs, and test throughput. It also plots histograms and pareto charts, providing insight into test results. Housed in a 3U-height chassis, the system has minimal operator controls: Test, Stop, and Retest buttons and Pass/Fail LEDs.
