Tektronix adds models to MDO line

Martin Rowe - October 2, 2012

Tektronix has added two lower-bandwidth models to its popular MDO4000 mixed-domain oscilloscope line. The new models, with bandwidths of 100 MHz ($12,200) and 350 MHz ($16,700), make the MDO more affordable for low-bandwidth applications such as embedded systems, RFID, and others that the higher-bandwidth models. The MDO4000 series produces frequency plots from time-domain signals and provides time correlation between the two signal domains. That lets you see how a signal’s frequency components change over time.

The 100-MHz and 350-MHz bandwidths refer to the oscilloscope part of the MDO. Frequency range for the spectrum analyzer in two new models is 50 KHz to 3 GHz. The MDO4014-3 has 100-MHz oscilloscope bandwidth while the MDO4034-3 has 350-MHz bandwidth. Previous models had bandwidths of 500 MHz and 1 GHz. All models have four oscilloscope channels and 16 logic channels, and one RF channel.

The original MDO4000 models won T&MW’s 2012 Test Product of the Year award.
