Cognex rolls out entry-level vision system

Test & Measurement World Staff - July 19, 2012

Intended for inspection tasks where vision sensors are too limited and standard vision systems may be too costly, the In-Sight 7010 entry-level vision system from Cognex boasts autofocus optics and integrated lighting. According to the manufacturer, the In-Sight 7010 can be taken right out of the box and put straight on the production line with minimal effort.

The self-contained system offers an image capture rate of 102 fps and a resolution of 800×600 pixels. Its built-in autofocus capability is useful for production environments requiring regular part changes or applications where the vision system is placed in hard-to-reach spaces. With autofocus, engineers can set and save the focus values associated with the inspection of each part. The In-Sight 7010’s autofocus system is available with five different lens options to match the working distance and field-of-view requirements of each application.

Housed in an IP67-rated industrial package, the vision system also provides integrated white lighting that is suitable for most vision applications. If a specific color light is required to highlight particular parts or features, four optional colored lights are available.

Vision applications for the In-Sight 7010 can be configured using the EasyBuilder interface software, which walks you through the process step by step, along with a selection of inspection, measurement, alignment, and guidance vision tools.
