Programmable bench supplies deliver up to 360 W
Test & Measurement World Staff - August 14, 2012
B&K Precision has introduced three switch-mode DC power supplies that provide various configurations of output voltage and current in a compact bench unit that allows both analog and USB remote control. Rated at up to 360 W, the line furnishes output voltage and current ranges of 1 V to 60 V, 0 to 5 A (Model 1685B), 1 V to 36 V, 0 to 10 A (Model 1687B), and 1 to 18 V, 0 to 20 A (Model 1688B).
All models have 3-digit LED displays, constant-voltage and constant-current modes, rotary-encoder control knobs for setting voltage and current levels, and dual-action pushbuttons for fine and coarse settings of voltage and current. The supplies also offer a front-panel auxiliary output and three user-defined voltage and current presets for quick recall of common test parameters.
An analog remote-control terminal is accessible on the rear for connecting external variable DC voltage sources or variable resistors. In addition, the supplies come with a USB interface for remote PC connectivity. Engineers can control the instrument using the included PC software or by sending remote programming commands.
The 1685B, 1687B, and 1688B power supplies cost $339 each.
