Halcon 11 vision software expands 3-D support
Test & Measurement World Staff - September 16, 2012
MVTec’s Halcon 11 machine-vision software offers a host of new features, including support for many different types of 3-D sensors, as well as interfaces for devices from a wide range of manufacturers. The addition of new technologies, such as 3-D registration and 3-D surface comparison, along with improved 3-D visualization and extended 3-D object processing, further expand the palette of available 3-D vision tools that Halcon offers.
For uncalibrated laser triangulation, Halcon 11 works with any area-scan camera with an external laser and in combination with the microEnable IV-V dedicated preprocessing board and 3-D SmartApplet from Silicon Software. It also supports specific 3-D cameras with onboard profile-measurement capability, such as the Ranger and Color Ranger from Sick, Automation Technology’s C4, and Photonfocus 3-D cameras. For calibrated laser triangulation, Halcon 11 works with Sick Ruler E, Leuze LPS36, LMI Technologies Gocator, Micro Epsilon scanControl, Vision Components nano 3D, and upcoming laser sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs and SmartRay.
