Optical power multimeter handles multiple wavelengths

Test & Measurement World Staff - September 19, 2012

GAO Fiber Optics offers the Model C0260001, a handheld optical power multimeter that integrates an optical source and optical power meter for the installation and maintenance of fiber communications and CATV systems. The unit provides multiple-wavelength measurement, pushbutton operation, a real-time clock function, single-ended dual-wavelength output, low-voltage warning, and automatic power-off.

Engineers and technicians can use the Model C0260001 to conduct absolute and relative power tests, as well as optical loss tests for fiber-optic cables and passive optical devices. The laser-source module operates at 1310 nm ±20 nm and 1550 nm ±20 nm. The optical power-meter module covers a wavelength range from 800 nm to 1600 nm and can automatically identify frequencies, including 270 Hz, 1 kHz, and 2 kHz.

A large memory capacity enables the Model C0260001 to store up to 200 test-data groups. An internal microprocessor and linearity magnification ensure long-term calibration and test accuracy. Additionally, adapters are available for all common connector types, such as FC, SC, ST, and LC.

Price: $1099.
