Wireless software beefs up drive-test support

Test & Measurement World Staff - September 30, 2012

Version 2.4 of Azimuth Systems’ Field-to-Lab wireless test software adds support for new scanners and file formats, including TD-SCDMA with Qualcomm QXDM and JDSU drive-test tools, UMTS with Anite Nemo, and native support for LTE with Accuver XCAL.

It also offers mapping enhancements and increased built-in mapper intelligence.

Field-to-Lab allows service providers and equipment manufacturers to emulate real-world test conditions in the lab by taking dynamic channel conditions collected from drive testing and replaying this data with Azimuth’s ACE MX or ACE MX2 channel emulator. Support for enhanced multifrequency playback with QXDM complements existing support for FDD LTE and TD-LTE and enables playback scenarios with inter-frequency and iRAT handovers.

Release 2.4 of Field-to-Lab has built-in intelligence to analyze drive logs and provide critical statistics, such as the average gap size, as well as report on how changing a parameter impacts playback. This makes AzMapper, a key component of the Field-to-Lab platform, easier to use. Additionally, Field-to-Lab includes increased data segmentation, allowing users to choose segments of the log to map and playback.
