Agilent DMM withstands extreme winter weather

Test & Measurement World Staff - October 11, 2012

A handheld digital multimeter with a 4.5-digit OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display, the U1273AX from Agilent Technologies operates in temperatures as low as –40°C for maintenance and troubleshooting in cold winter weather.

Even in such frigid conditions, Agilent says the DMM delivers accurate results with no warm-up time required.

The U1273AX has an operating temperature range that extends up to +55°C. Coupling this range with IP54 water and dust resistance, plus a CAT IV/600-V safety rating, the instrument helps users keep their operations running smoothly in demanding industrial and electrical applications. When paired with the U1583B AC current clamp, which also functions down to –40°C, the U1273AX performs current measurement without breaking the circuit under test.

With a 2000:1 contrast ratio and 160° viewing angle, the unit’s OLED display delivers crystal-clear readings. The meter measures voltage up to 1000 V AC and DC and current up to 10 A (20 A for 30 s). Advanced capabilities include a low-impedance mode that reduces ghost voltages caused by capacitive coupling and a low-pass filter that eliminates switching noise from motor-drive measurements. Additionally, the DMM is compatible with the U1177A infrared-to-Bluetooth adapter for wireless remote connectivity.

The U1273AX costs $450.
