GAO visual fault locator boasts long operating time

Used to troubleshoot both single-mode and multimode fiber-optic cables, the Model C0280002 visual fault locator from GAO Fiber Optics operates for 30 hours on a single battery charge.
The handheld
instrument detects breaks and microbends through jacketed fiber and performs
end-to-end fiber identification.
Compatible with FC optical connectors and universal 2.5-mm adapters, the C0280002 can be used to examine all kinds of patch cords, ribbons, and bunched pigtails used in the installation and maintenance of fiber-optic networks in telecommunication and CATV systems. It offers wavelengths ranging from 640 nm to 660 nm and a measurement range of up to 5 km. Other specifications include a spectral width of less than 5 nm and output power of 1 mW.
The C0280002 visible fault locator is powered by two AA alkaline batteries and operates over a temperature range of –10°C to +60°C. Dimensions of the unit are 100×50×25 mm, and it weighs 50 g.
