Keithley programmable supplies boast high accuracy
Test & Measurement World Staff - October 18, 2012
Two multichannel power supplies join Keithley Instruments’ Series 2200 line of programmable DC supplies, delivering 0.03% basic voltage and 0.1% basic current readback accuracy for higher data confidence.
With these
new models, Keithley offers a wide choice of supplies with one, two, or three
channels that complement its broad range of source and measure instrumentation.
The supplies’ output levels are intended to address a variety of sourcing
requirements for characterizing components, circuits, modules, and complete
devices.
Two of the Model 2230-30-1’s three output channels are typically used for powering analog circuits, with each channel capable of producing up to 30 V, 1.5 A, 45 W. A third output channel furnishes 6 V, 5 A, 30 W for powering digital circuits. The Model 2220-30-1 provides two output channels, each capable of outputting up to 30 V, 1.5 A, 45 W. These maximum output levels are combined with voltage setting and reading resolution of 1 mV and current setting and reading resolution of 1 mA.
Rear-panel remote sense terminals on each channel compensate for voltage drops in the power supply leads to ensure that the correct voltage is delivered to the load terminals of the DUT, enhancing overall system accuracy. Ripple and noise specifications of less than 3 mV pk-pk ensure high-quality load current measurements. Each output channel is completely isolated, which allows the supplies to power two isolated circuits with different reference points.
The Model 2220-30-1 dual-channel supply costs $950. The Model 2230-30-1 triple-channel supply costs $1150.
