VITA 62 3U power supply delivers 400 W
Test & Measurement World Staff - October 19, 2012
Dawn VME Products has introduced the PSC-6236, a VITA 62-compliant 3U AC/DC power supply with universal AC input and a six-channel design that provides full OpenVPX support.
Designed for mission-critical
applications, the PSC-6236 delivers 400 W of output power at a temperature
range of –40°C to +85°C at the thermal interface.
The VITA 62 standard defines power-generation, connector-configuration, and form-factor requirements for power modules mating to a VPX backplane VITA 62 power supply slot. In addition to VITA 62 compliance, the PSC-6236 meets the requirements of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704F, and MIL-STD-810F. Models are available for air-cooled, bulkhead conduction-cooled, and wedge lock conduction-cooled applications.
The power supply accommodates an input voltage range of 85 VAC to 264 VAC, 47 Hz to 400 Hz. DC outputs include +12 V at 16.7 A, +5 V at 40 A, +3.3 V at 30 A, +3.3 V auxiliary at 4 A, +12 V auxiliary at 4 A, and –12V auxiliary at 3 A. Standard features include an I2C interface for status and control; intelligent monitoring of voltage, current, and temperature; over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection; and factory-programmable sequencing and shutdown-control for all voltage rails. An optional three-axis accelerometer is available to record and time-stamp shock, vibration, and other critical events.
