Wireless tester handles 8 UEs in one mainframe
Test & Measurement World Staff - October 27, 2012
Aimed at high-volume manufacturing test of cellular and short-range wireless UE (user equipment), Anritsu’s MT8870A instrument mainframe houses up to four test modules, each capable of alternately measuring two smart phones without the need for external switching.
Each MU887000A test module includes a built-in VSA (vector signal analyzer) and VSG (vector signal generator) for performing DUT transmitter and receiver tests. Modules cover a frequency range of 10 MHz to 3.8 GHz, 6 GHz optionally, and provide a measurement bandwidth of 160 MHz.The platform implements test capabilities for multiple wireless technologies through the addition of VSA and VSG software options to the mainframe, ranging from Bluetooth and WiFi to LTE and 802.11ac. Installing four independent modules in the MT8870A enables simultaneous measurement of four separate wireless devices. A unique IP address can be allocated to each slot, and each module supports remote control via Ethernet or optional GPIB connections.
CombiView PC-based software is used to control the MT8870A and allows the display of graphical and numerical test results. A utility program detects the network and aids in licensing and firmware upgrades.
