Test software performs MC-MLPPP simulation
Staff - November 6, 2012
GL Communications’ MAPS (Message Automation & Protocol Simulation) platform, a protocol simulation and conformance test tool that supports various telecom protocols, now adds MC-MLPPP (Multi-Class Multi-Link Point-to-Point Protocol) testing over TDM (T1/E1).
The tester can simulate a complete PPP or MLPPP link between two peers, with MLPPP signaling that conforms to IETF specifications.MAPS MLPPP not only tests network elements, but also performs error tracking, regression testing, conformance testing, load testing, and call generation. It can run predefined test scenarios against MLPPP test objects in a controlled and deterministic manner. The test platform allows users to modify call parameters and message contents, including arbitrary manipulation of messages, information elements, and message sequences on different protocols.
GL’s MAPS platform supports a variety of protocols, such as SIP, MEGACO, MGCP, SS7, ISDN, GSM, MAP, CAS, LTE, UMTS, SS7 SIGTRAN, ISDN SIGTRAN, SIP I, GSM AoIP, and others. Call scenarios and message sequences are generated through scripts. Ready-to-use scripts make the testing procedure simpler and less time consuming.
