TDK-Lamba expands programmable supply line
Staff - November 26, 2012Aimed at ATE, laboratory, and OEM applications, TDK-Lambda’s Z+ series of programmable DC power supplies now includes models that provide 200 W of output power with an output voltage range of 0 to 100 VDC and output currents of up to 20 A.The 2U bench and rack-mount supplies are 33% smaller and 40% lighter than the previous-generation ZUP series, resulting in a 49% increase in power density.
The standard models are only 3.27 in. high by 2.76 in. wide, and up to six units can be installed in an optional 19-in. rack housing. Options for front-panel output jacks and multiple-unit housings are available for bench applications. The 200-W supplies join the previously released 400-W models, with 600-W and 800-W units planned for future release.
Z+ series power supplies provide built-in arbitrary waveform generation and storage for up to four preprogrammed functions. Up to 12 voltage or current values can be programmed using the supplied waveform-creator software. More complex waveforms can be created using LabView.
All models operate in constant-current or constant-voltage mode from an input of 85 VAC to 265 VAC input. They also feature USB, RS-232, and RS-485 interfaces, with optional LAN, GPIB, and isolated analog programming. Using the standard RS-485 interface between units enables daisy-chain control of up to 31 power supplies on the same bus. Higher-power systems can be formed by connecting up to eight identical units in parallel with active current sharing.
Base price: $1185.
