Dual-range supplies deliver up to 210 W
Staff - January 4, 2013B&K Precision’s 9170 and 9180 series of programmable dual-range DC power supplies provide clean, precise power up to 210 W in various configurations of voltage as high as 600 V and current as high as 20 A. In addition to furnishing two ranges of voltage and current output, each of the nine models in the 9170/9180 series offers modular interface slots for remote configurability.
Units come in rack-mount packages with single or dual outputs suitable for bench and ATE applications in design engineering labs and electronics manufacturing. The power supplies boast line and load regulation of less than 0.01% + 1 mV and less than 0.01% +250 µA, with ripple and noise specifications (20 Hz to 20 MHz) as low as 0.35 mV RMS. A full numerical keypad with vertical and horizontal cursors allows direct entry of voltage and current values. The supplies also provide front-panel and rear-panel output terminals, remote-sense terminals, and an SCPI-compliant USB interface for remote control.
Four different types of interface cards are available for the 9170/9180 power supplies: LAN and GPIB, digital I/O and analog control, RS-485, and RS-232. Special LED test modes can be used to minimize inrush current for safe testing of LEDs. Other features include programmable voltage and current slew rates, list mode for executing programmed test sequences, and the ability to store and recall up to 10 different power settings. Additionally, built-in overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, and a front-panel key lock prevent accidental damage to a device under test.
Prices for the 9170/9180 series of dual-range power supplies start at $985.
