Updated software improves large-scale network testing
Staff - January 11, 2013IxNetwork 7.0, Ixia’s platform for network topology testing and traffic analysis, provides greater visibility into the performance of complex converged networks and actionable insight to troubleshoot problems before deploying services or devices. The updated software features an intuitive user interface that offers new visual configuration elements and built-in support for multiple protocols.
Version 7.0’s next-generation protocol framework delivers realistic control-plane emulation and adds such improvements as a topology view that provides a summary of the entire network state with color-coded summaries on per-topology and per-device levels. Device-based protocol configuration simplifies the configuration of large-scale, complex network topologies, while port drill-down and control helps speed up debugging.
The platform supports Ixia’s Xdensity 10GE SFP+ load modules and multiple concurrent users; ImpairNet network emulation with loss-of-framing and loss-of-signal emulation; and custom QuickTest, which allows network engineers to create tests outside of the prepackaged ones. Additionally, IxNetwork 7.0 introduces automatic multicast tunneling.
