Digital signal level meter tests DVB-C channels
Staff - January 15, 2013
Capable of conducting analog and digital measurements of cable TV networks, the A0N00010 digital signal level meter from GAO Comm measures the average power of the DVB-C (Digital Video Broadcasting - Cable) signal, as well as frequency power levels. It also performs tilt, C/N (carrier noise ratio), voltage, MER (modulation error ratio), BER (bit error rate), V/A, and automatic channel-power measurements.
The handheld meter operates over a frequency range of 5 MHz to 870 MHz and has a signal level measurement range from 30 dBµV to 120 dBµV, accurate to within ±1.5 dB. Spectrum analysis and channel-spectrum scanning functions enable installation and maintenance technicians to quickly analyze and diagnose network faults. For QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) analysis, the meter supports QAM 32, QAM 64, QAM 128, QAM 256, and ITU-TJ.83 Annex A/B/C modulation types. In addition, the A0N00010 offers USB and RS-232 interfaces for data exchange.
