Boundary-scan bundle eases technology entry
Staff - February 21, 2013PicoTAP Designer Studio from Goepel is a boundary-scan test system aimed at newcomers to the JTAG/boundary-scan test arena, as well as engineers with cost-sensitive projects. The hardware/software bundle teams a mixed-signal I/O module with the PicoTAP boundary-scan controller, which is powered via USB and plugs directly into the I/O module.
According to the manufacturer, PicoTAP Designer Studio covers a multitude of boundary-scan applications, from prototype hardware debugging and interconnection testing between BGA components to small batch production. It can also be used as a teaching tool at universities and polytechnic colleges.
In addition to the PicoTAP controller and CION FXT-96/A I/O module, the kit comes with System Cascon Basic/SX Development Station software. The bundle’s performance level can be extended from pure test (base version) to provide additional functions, such as in-system programming of small flash and logic devices, as well as memory and cluster test.
