A tale of three labs
The investigation of failures involves taking apart failed devices, tracking down a problem, and establishing the root cause for the failure. At the simplest level, failure-analysis (FA) labs answer two questions, "What went wrong?" and "How do we keep it from happening again?" But labs may take different approaches to a problem based on their specialties and their capabilities.
